Creating and accessing appropriate information and research to inform our thinking and practice is an evolving and important part of CDNZ. We want to provide you with useful references and links to a range of international and national groups who specialise in capacity building approaches and related sub sets that can contribute to building our collective knowledge base.

Capacity development is an emerging theory, building on related areas such as organisational change and development, good governance, sustainable development, health research, health promotion and prevention, collaboration and partnership, evaluation, mentoring and coaching leadership and effective funding.

There is a growing body of evidence from overseas and more recently within New Zealand about what effective capacity development or capacity building means. CDNZ wants to provide good advice to you on what this research and evidence is and where to follow up on useful contacts for specific areas of interest. We also want to provide a vehicle for sharing our experiences with you and encourage you to share with us and with each other. To create a learning environment and network.

How will we achieve this ?  Through keeping abreast of new research and information, building partnerships and links with peak bodies and information services, providing summaries for members of the latest developments, ensuring we develop our services based on good practice.

We welcome your feedback and ideas and contacts to help us to help you.
